Comment on Lesson Learned: Never COBRA Your Insurance by Will

Interesting perspective, but not in synch with my experiences. I have found COBRA to be considerably less expensive than doing an individual family plan, the logic is that your company negotiates a better rate than you can as an individual. I would bet that your $600 plan is nothing like your $1,500 plan. The divinity is in the details, deductibles, coverage, etc. I have been through this exact exercise three times in my career and the answer has always been the same. Even when insurance reps tell you that the coverage is the same, it isn't. I would urge you to strongly compare the details of the plan (if by the same carrier, ask a rep how they are different) - you may be making an expensive mistake.

Great post, I know some call Costco the "senior buffet". I admit to liking to taste most of the samples (and more importantly - giving them to my kids so they behave) but the way people hover over the stations waiting for the next tray filled with 1/2 oz of bbq chicken while I'm simply trying to navigate to find the 100 lbs of pesto. :^)

LinkedIn is an awesome professional networking tool. It's how YOU work it that will determine the value you recieve. Like everything else in life, there are Pros and Cons. In my opinion, there is nothing that matches up to LinkedIn. The best value I get in researching sales leads is when I couple LinkedIn with Jigsaw - there seems to ne just no one that I cannot track down. The information is there for the taking. LinkedIn and Jigsaw together have levelled the playing field and EVERYONE has access to EVERYONE. Access does not guarantee success...but surely is an enabler.
